- New York State Historical Association in Cooperstown, NY. Only a maritime site if you consider the fact that it is on Otsego Lake, the source of the Susquehanna River and therefore accessible to the Chesapeake. At least if you are a good canoeist.
- Maritime Area of Interest:
- NYC harbor in the 18th and 19th centuries, inland waterways including Hudson and Mohawk rivers, Lake Champlain and Great Lakes commerce and canal history.
